I normally play acoustic guitar, few simple cord songs and finger picking that kind of thing. However a few months back I picked up a beautiful electric guitar; borrowed an amp; worked out what lead I needed; and to be honest that's as far as I've got. Not wanting it to turn into a very expensive ornament, or just using it that same as my acoustic, I wonder if you could give me any hints on how to start using this guitar in it own right.

For electric rock playing, the big constants are movable power chords based on the E, A and D shapes and shifted around using the chromatic scale for rhythm work, and the minor pentatonic scale for lead work.
Hope this helps!
